Chapter 92 (Sura 92)
1; I CALL THE night to witness when it covers over,
2; And the day when it shines in all its glory,
3; And Him who created the male and female,
4; That your endeavour is for different ends.
5; Yet he who gives to others and has fear,
6; And affirms goodness,
7; We shall ease the way of fortune for him.
8; But he who does not give and is unconcerned,
9; And rejects goodness,
10; For him We shall ease the way of adversity,
11; And his riches will not avail him when he falls headlong (into the Abyss).
12; It is indeed for Us to show the way,
13; And to Us belong the End and the Beginning.
14; So, I warn you of the blazing Fire.
15; No one will burn in it but the most wretched,
16; Who denied (the truth) and turned away.
17; But save him who fears
18; And gives of his wealth that he may grow in virtue,
19; And is under no one´s obligation to return his favour,
20; Other than seeking the glory of his Lord, most high,
21; Will surely be gratified.
